Flycasters Annual Event

Flycasters Annual Dinner and Conservation Fundraiser

Flycasters, Inc. of San Jose would like to invite all NCCFF club members, family & friends to a party.  The Flycasters Conservation Committee is hosting our annual dinner and fundraiser with all proceeds from the raffle and silent auction to go to a dedicated fund for specific projects in the south Bay for recovery of our coastal Steelhead.  The need to improve habitat in several local streams is imminent. We have been asked to step up to provide additional funds to support the local projects on these streams.

Our committee has really been hard at work developing a great array of silent auction and bucket raffle prizes. We already have over 100 prizes with a total estimated retail value of over $30,000 and more donations are continuing to come in.  We've got restaurants, fly fishing gear, hotel and resort stays, and 2 for 1 guided fly fishing trips, art and fly plates, over $1,000 in wine and wine tastings, and a lot more.  The major auction item is a six and a half day inclusive fishing trip for two to a great lodge in Argentina.  Exclusive of air and incidentals the trip is valued at $8,700 - a great opportunity. See the List of Donors on the web site: www.flycasters.org.

Our headliner speaker is Hal Janssen, well known world-class angler, artist, author, and innovator who is an accomplished stillwater angler.  He has been fly fishing for over 50 years and has fished extensively throughout North and South America for nearly every species of fresh and salt water fish. Not only will he present his new unique Stillwater fly fishing concepts but no doubt will have you captivated with his expertise, knowledge and humor.

The gala event will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Cupertino Quinlan Community Center, 10185 N. Stelling Ave., Cupertino, CA, just north of Stevens Creek Blvd with easy access from all the freeways.  There will be beer and wine, appetizers and an informal buffet dinner in a great modern facility all for only $40/person.  If you would like to stay overnight, lodging is available at discounted prices at the Marriott Courtyard Cupertino Hotel.

Save the date now and plan on joining us. We'd appreciate a notice in your newsletter.  Advanced reservations are required and can be made by going to the web site, www.flycasters.org, look for the Annual Dinner for more information and make your reservations early, as space is limited.  Come join us in Cupertino and you could be a winner in more than one way.  See you in Cupertino in February.
