Conservation Veterans First Fly Fishing (VFFF)

4th Annual Shadow Cliffs Veterans First Fly Fishing event.

On a beautiful sunny early Friday May 3, 2013, thirty six (36) volunteer fly fishermen/women from eight (8) local fly fishing clubs, and six (6) members of Hero’s on the Water (HOW) gave up a day to come out and help veterans catch a Rainbow Trout on a fly rod, these wonderful folks came together under the banner of Veterans First Fly Fishing (VFFF) to host the Fourth Annual Fly Fishing day.  Judging by the smiles, the forty eight (48) veterans who are either inpatients or self-directed out patients from the Veterans Administration Livermore, Martinez, Menlo Park and Palo Alto hospitals and clinics enjoyed the event. Many, actually most, of these veterans have never even caught a fish let alone caught one with a fly rod!
